History

1920

Fukuoji Horin was born in Yonezawa City, Yamagata Prefecture.

1936

He went to Tokyo to be a painter.

1949

He exhibited "Sansonfukei" at the 34th "Inten" exhibition.

1951

He was appointed to the "Inyu" of the Japan Art Institute.

1960

He was appointed to the "Dojin" of the Japan Art Institute.

1971

He exhibited "Sanpuku no Sekibutsu" at the 56th "Inten" exhibition, and won the "Naikaku Sori Daijin Shou" prize.

1984

He was awarded the 40th Japan Art Academy prize for "Himarayas No Hana" which he exhibited at the "Inten" exhibition a year ago.

1994

He was appointed to a member of The Japan Art Academy.

1997

He was given the Orders of the Sacred Treasure.

1998

He was selected to the Person of Cultural Merits.

2004

He was given the Order of Culture.
